About Me
Brenda Anvari is a Devon abstract artist known for her atmospheric colourful paintings.
Her unconventional style of 'painting without a paintbrush’, using tools such as palette knives and paint scrapers allow her to build layers, texture and contrast into each of her pieces.
Brenda is a self taught artist that loves colour and experimenting. She always wanted to paint since she was a child. it's only been in the last few years that she has had the brain space to develop, experiment and paint.
Brenda creates abstract paintings through the process of continuous layering of paint, which forms the basis of all of her work. The application and manipulation of paint over time creates depth and texture from which her colourful contrasts are formed.
The fundamentals in each piece are designed using a variety of unconventional tools that are both handmade and improvised with finishing touches added with Brenda's signature mark-making technical
All of Brenda's works are hand-made originals, and one of a kind, created in her Torquay studio using hand stretched cotton canvas on wooden frames. Framing is available (and optional) on all pieces.
Each painting takes between two weeks to a month depending on the inspiration, idea and work load.
Brenda feels that she had found her vibe and style, painting makes her happy, it makes her explore what happens to her when she paints. She has always been drawn to the vibrant colours of southern Europe, Morocco and the Middle East. Their art, tiles, ceramics, sun and heat
